Solid Waste Collection User Fees
ยง 5-2-3-4. SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL USER FEES (passed June 26, 2024)
(A)The minimum solid waste and recycling collection disposal user fee shall be $17.50 per month for each household which receives collection service from the City of Lawrence Division of Sanitation for one solid waste and one recycle container. The base fee shall increase by sixty cents ($0.60) effective on January 2 of each year hereafter.

Recycling Information
Recycling material must be contained in the provided 95-gallon recycling cart. You will not be able to continue to use your former cart.
Heavy Trash
Spring Heavy Trash Week: May 4-8, 2026
Fall Heavy Trash Week: October 5-9, 2026
3 Free Items
During Heavy Trash Weeks, residents can take advantage of heavy trash/bulk collection at no additional cost. Each property may place three (3) items at the curb for collection in both the Spring and Fall.

Collection Procedures
Your service day with Priority Waste will remain the same as the current schedule that was used with Replublic Services.
We start collection at 7am and continue until we are finished. The time you are serviced is subject to change week to week and we recommend placing your materials out for collection the night before your collection day.
Solid Waste material must be contained in the provided 96-gallon cart.
